A sixth jumps horse has been confirmed killed in the 2025 season.
Following our usual status check after the end of the season of all the horses who jumps raced and/or jumps trialled, we became aware that an additional horse, Indian Doll, had been killed. Indian Doll was injured at a jumps trial at Warrnambool on 16 June and she was subsequently killed off-track as a result of the injury.
This brings the death toll of the 2025 jumps racing season in Victoria up to six horses.
Taken into account the smaller number of individual horses who raced and trialled in 2025 compared with 2024, the overall death toll of six horses in 2025 is statistically as significant as in 2024. In fact, the number of deaths resulting from jumps trials have actually increased from two in 2024 to three in 2025.
