Bringing together two of Melbourne's favourite past times - fashion and sport, we deliver to you a free alternative to the old ‘Race that stops a nation’, to say ‘NUP TO THE CUP!’
Come protest the Cup! And show regular racegoers what cruelty free fun looks like.
Come witness the fabulously fashionable competitors as they battle out for the grand prize or enter and compete for the grandest of prizes yourself!

What better way to raise money for horses than by eating delicious pizza and drinking delicious beer with friends?
This Melbourne Cup Day all profits from Red Sparrow Pizza's served next door at The Incubator from 12-5pm, then in-house at Red Sparrow from 5-10pm will be donated to our vital work for horses used by the racing industry.

MELBOURNE: Nup to the Cup Yoga & Lunch
Join Melbourne Vegan Tours and say NO to the Melbourne Cup by taking part in an afternoon of yoga, vegan food and cruelty-free chats.
We will begin the afternoon with a 45 minutes ahimsa (non-violence) focused yoga class, run by Jess Ivers before making our way down to Brunswick St for lunch. You will then be guided along the streets of Fitzroy by your hosts Jess and Dan for a hand-picked delicious lunch. Wine or beer is included in your ticket price at one venue.
There'll be other surprises on the day, and each guest will go home with a goodie bag.

GLENROWAN: Nup To The Cup Picnic at Free Spirits Farm Sanctuary
We invite animal lovers of North East Victoria to our second annual Nup to the Cup picnic! If you are against the cruelty in the horse racing industry but still like to PARTAY on public holidays then this is the event for you!
We have all the fun of the Cup, minus the cruelty. Dress up in your finest vegan fashion, bring along a plate of vegan food and relax in the sunshine with the rescued farm animals. Human races will be organised for your entertainment and they are absolutely hilarious.

We love horses not races. To support them rather than exploit them, we want to get together on Melbourne Cup Day and make something good out of an otherwise sad day. Join us for delicious cruelty-free food at the Duke of Enmore only minutes from Newtown station.
Instead of a sweep we will have a raffle, instead of hats we will wear flower crowns (optional -bring your own or purchase one on the day), instead of watching 'the race' we will have plenty of other surprises and we will also have two amazing live singers on the day. It's a great opportunity to bring colleagues or friends and raise awareness while enjoying great company and supporting a good cause.

With the popularity of our alternative to the Adelaide Cup Day horse races - The Canine Cup, Guardian Angel Animal Rescue will be screening an exclusive race on their Facebook Page just before the Melbourne Cup horse race runs.
We encourage any #Nup to the Cup event to screen their races instead, make an afternoon tea/luncheon out of it and raise funds for an animal shelter close to your heart. The 'races' are simply dogs running from one owner to the other (if they want) 🙂 It is the cutest thing you'll see and completely cruelty free!

The racing industry has operated for over 150 years in Australia without considering the animals exploited for entertainment. Horses suffer tremendously throughout their time as competitors and when their "career" is up, so is their life. Make it clear that horse racing is a horrendous, cruel sport that needs to end. ADELAIDE: Canine Cup (March 2019)
The Canine Cup is much like a race day luncheon - except better in every way!
Vegan catered and the races you watch are of pre-recorded dogs running (or not if they don't want to) from their human to another, calling them. No whips, drugs, added weight.
4-course luncheon, live music, fashion competition, and unlimited photo booth all inclusive, with all proceeds assisting the efforts of Guardian Angel Animal Rescue. Tickets and further details here.
