VIRTUAL: Nup to the Cup Online Rally!
Join Greens MP Mehreen Faruqi for an online rally!
Year after year we see the needless painful deaths of horses exploited for entertainment and gambling profit at the Melbourne Cup.
But in 2021, it’s clear that the public’s tolerance of this carnival of cruelty is wearing thin. A recent independent opinion poll found that a clear majority of Australians (55%) agree that racing animals like horses for gambling and entertainment is cruel.
Say 'nup' to the Cup this year by joining Senator Mehreen Faruqi, animal welfare supporters and advocates for an online rally while the race is run.
Together we will speak out against the toxic gambling-fuelled horse racing industry and show the people that commercial racing and carnivals of cruelty like the Melbourne Cup must end.
