The Magic Millions Race Day features very young horses (2-year-olds) whose immature skeletal structures are at particular risk of serious injury each time they are forced to use extreme physical exertion to complete a race. Young horses are raced purely because owners want a return on their investment as quickly as possible.
We invite animal lovers to protest against the horse racing industry and against the running of the Magic Millions 2-Year-Old Classic.
More than 13,000 racehorses are bred every year and many will find themselves sent to slaughter largely as a result of being unprofitable.
Right now there is more attention than ever on the horse racing industry. Let’s keep up the pressure!
When: Saturday 13th January 2021 from 10am onwards
Where: Aquis Gold Coast Turf Club, Bundall Racecourse main entrance (Cnr Racecourse Road and Ascot Road)
** Bring your hat, water, sunscreen, messages and posters. It is often quite hot (but there will be some shade available). Corflutes/posters and banners will be supplied. Umbrella is a good idea for shade or in case of rain. We’ll be there rain or shine. **
