Join Coalition for the Protection of Racehorses (CPR) and our friends at Wellington Vegan Actions (WVA) to peacefully protest the cruel “sport” that is horse racing. Fractures, bleeding lungs, cruelty, death… are not things worth celebrating. The horses aren’t going to the party! We will be there for the horses who are forced to literally run for their lives.
We will be using props to demonstrate the suffering these horses have to endure.
WHERE: Wellington Racing Club, Racecourse Road, Trentham
Meet across from the entrance to the racing club. As you come off the train from Wellington, go over the bridge and you will find us.
TRAVEL: Catch the 10:05am train leaving Wellington Railway Station (Hutt Valley Line), arriving Trentham Station at 10:45am. The next train leaves Wellington at 10:35am, arriving Trentham at 11:15am. Please get in touch for possible car pooling.
DRESS CODE: Please dress in smart-casual attire if you are able. Let’s show racegoers that you can dress up WITHOUT supporting animal cruelty!
